Chalet Aigle

General terms & conditions for rental

General Terms & Conditions for rental of Chalet Falcon, Chalet Aigle and the Chalet Aigle Studio · ActiveFusion Group Sàrl

1. Deposits and confirmation

On receipt of a booking confirmation payment, ActiveFusion Group Sàrl will send you confirmation of your rental agreement, showing the arrangements booked, the remaining balance due and when this should be paid to ActiveFusion Group Sàrl. The contract then exists between ActiveFusion Group Sàrl and the Renter and this contract in all circumstances is governed by this rental agreement.

2. Liability

The Renter and Renter's Guests shall indemnify and hold harmless the Lessor and ActiveFusion Group Sàrl against any and all claims of personal injury or property damage or loss arising from use of the premises. You will ensure that you have in your possession all necessary and valid travel documents. You accept that you ski and enjoy other winter sports at your own risk within the restrictions imposed by the resort or other authorities. We are not responsible for your actions and these restrictions. It is the condition of every rental that each member of your party is covered by personal holiday/activity insurance, and that the policy covers you adequately for winter sports, third party risks and costs incurred from damage to property or adjacent properties during your stay caused by you or any member of your party, your employees or visitors to the property.

3. Holiday insurance

It is the condition of every booking that each member of your party is covered by personal holiday insurance, and that the policy covers you adequately for winter sports, third party risks and costs incurred from damage to property or adjacent properties during your stay caused by you or any member of your party, your employees or visitors to the property. Failure to do so is at the risk of the Renter.

4. Property insurance

The Renter undertakes not to do or permit to be done anything which may invalidate the property or property contents insurance.

5. Parties and gatherings

Parties and/or gatherings at Chalet Falcon, Chalet Aigle or the Chalet Aigle Studio that include persons not residing at the property are not authorised unless pre-authorisation is requested and provided by the Lessor in writing.

6. Damage and security deposits

A damage/security deposit is to be held by credit card or paid in cash before access to the property is provided. The Renter shall be responsible for any damage to the rented premises not caused by ActiveFusion Group Sàrl or its agents nor resulting from a structural fault. The Renter shall keep the leased premises and the contents thereof in good repair and condition and take all the normal measures and precautions to avoid any damage being caused to or by the furniture and fittings (water, electricity etc.). The Renter alone shall be responsible for damage resulting from the failure to observe the above provisions. The leased premises shall be surrendered at the end of the period of rental in good and damage-free condition matching that at the commencement of the period of rental (fair wear and tear excepted), failing which an additional charge will be billed to cover the necessary repairs, cleaning and reconditioning. Items lost or damaged shall be replaced at the expense of the Renter. The Renter also agrees not to make any decorating changes or mark any walls in the property. If the damages exceed the amount of the damage deposit, the additional charges shall be invoiced to the Renter. This includes any excess payments where insurance claims had to be made due to the nature of the damage or accident.

7. Property access and inspection

ActiveFusion Group Sàrl reserves the right at any time to inspect the leased premises or have them inspected, giving at least 24 hours' notice.

8. Hot tub, jacuzzi and swimming pool

Any hot tub, jacuzzi or swimming pool is provided for use at the risk of the Renter. It is not possible for ActiveFusion Group Sàrl or the proprietors of Chalet Falcon or Chalet Aigle to provide supervision of their use, therefore use is at the risk of the Renter.

9. Pets and animals

No pets or animals are allowed in the properties without the prior written consent of ActiveFusion Group Sàrl. An additional cleaning charge and an increased damage deposit will be required as part of this consent. If during the stay damage is caused by the animal, we reserve the right to ban the animal from the property.

10. Smoking

No smoking is allowed inside the property at any time. If this is not adhered to, additional charges (minimum CHF 600) shall be applied to deep clean the property.

11. Transport

Transport offered in ActiveFusion Group Sàrl vehicles during your stay is accepted at your own risk.

12. Unaccompanied children

We will not transport children under the age of 12 unless accompanied by an adult or guardian from the party. Our staff will not be held responsible for any children left unattended within ActiveFusion Group Sàrl properties.

13. Commercial filming

Commercial filming and photography is not authorised unless pre-authorisation is requested and provided by ActiveFusion Group Sàrl in writing.

14. Chalet rules and safety guidelines (Annex 1)

All renters and guests shall abide by the chalet rules and safety guidelines for residing at the property. Please refer to Annex 1 below.

15. Keys

On arrival at the property you will be issued with a number of keys and/or door codes for the property. If the same number of keys is not returned to the staff at the end of your stay, a charge to replace these keys or to change the locks will be payable to ActiveFusion Group Sàrl. This may be deducted from the deposit.

16. Visitors

No additional persons other than those identified in the initial booking may reside at the property during the rental period without the prior agreement of ActiveFusion Group Sàrl. If additional guests are invited to eat or stay overnight, ActiveFusion Group Sàrl reserves the right to charge extra for the services provided.

17. Applicable law and governing jurisdiction

These rental conditions and any matters arising from them are subject to and governed by the laws of Switzerland and the cantonal regulations of Valais. For any dispute arising from these booking conditions, the competent court of Bagnes (Switzerland) shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

The present contract takes effect between both parties (ActiveFusion Group Sàrl and the Renter) on booking confirmation and once the initial payment is received by ActiveFusion Group Sàrl.

Annex 1 · Chalet rules & safety guidelines

1. Footwear in the chalet

The main flooring of the chalet is natural wood. Please help us sustain this by being mindful of your footwear and the items you bring onto this surface; the wood is soft and can be damaged easily. No skis, snowboards or ski boots are allowed above the ground floor at garage level: ski, snowboard and boot storage is allowed in the ski room, garage and technical rooms only, where custom-built ski hooks and boot shelving are provided. Outdoor footwear is not permitted on carpets and wooden floors. Outdoor footwear is allowed on the tiled reception, kitchen and dining areas; if you prefer to keep these surfaces clean, remove outdoor footwear at the front door or garage entrance, where shoe storage is provided.

2. Fireplace

The open fireplace can provide a cosy feeling and a lovely ambience, but a fire can quickly grow very large if not managed sensibly. Air vents integrated into the stone hearth control airflow to the fire: close them to reduce the fire, open them to increase it. There is also an exhaust vent in the chimney controlled by a handle on the left-hand side inside the fireplace; when the handle is down the vent is open, when it is up the vent is closed. Please leave this vent fully open, otherwise the chalet is at risk of filling with smoke.

  • Always use the fireguard, except when adding new wood to the fire. This prevents sparks leaving the fireplace.
  • Do not leave a burning fire unattended. Burning embers may be left unattended when the fireguard is in place.
  • Place all logs at the back of the fire behind the grill area, never in the middle (this draws smoke into the chalet) and never at the front (fire risk).
  • No more than three logs on the fire at any time.
  • Use the heat-protection glove provided when stoking or adding wood.
  • If there are any issues or concerns with the fire, call us immediately on +41 (0) 787 608 666. In an emergency call the fire department on 118.

3. Mezzanine

The mezzanine provides a large open feeling to the heart of the chalet. The additional height can be dangerous for small or over-energetic children: please always be in attendance of children when they are on this level.

4. Hot tub area (use at your own risk)

The hot tub is maintained for your comfort and prepared to heat to 36–37 °C; if you prefer a different temperature, let us know. Temperature, lights, blowers and jets can be controlled from the integrated panel, and the chalet management can also control the hot tub remotely, so tell us if you would like changes made before arrival or during your stay. Use of the hot tub is at your own risk and no supervision is provided by the chalet management. Children using the hot tub must be supervised at all times. We refresh the water and chlorine for each guest stay; the water reheats at about 2 °C per hour, so the hot tub may not yet be at temperature on arrival. Always close the lid when the hot tub is not in use, for safety and energy efficiency. Infrared heaters and remote controls are provided for your comfort; please ensure these are turned off when not in attendance and always at the end of the evening.

5. Fish pond

The water-catching barrel in the rear garden is stocked with goldfish. You may feed them once a day with the food provided. It is not an ice bath: please do not get in.

6. Sun shades

Sun shades are provided in the garden areas. Please ensure all shades are retracted when the chalet is not in attendance and whenever the wind builds, which can happen at any time and regularly on summer afternoons.

7. Mazot and shed

The mazot (traditional Swiss outdoor storage shed) is strictly off limits to guests, as it contains garden tools and materials which may cause injury or be toxic.

8. Garage

Where garage parking is provided, the door controls are on the garage wall or on the clicker attached to the keys. Please be very careful regarding the height of your vehicle when entering the garage: this is the responsibility of the guests, and use of the garage is at the guests' risk.

9. Snow clearing and ice

During the cold months snow and ice can build up around the chalet. The chalet management will control this to the best of their ability using snow blowers and salt, but ice can be very slippery and is not always visible, so please be mindful and careful during your stay. A salt container is provided for your use.

10. Smoking

The chalet is strictly no smoking. Additional charges apply for any smoking inside. Smoking is allowed outside; please be considerate of other guests and dispose of cigarette ends in the ash trays provided, for fire-risk and hygiene reasons.

11. Noise

The chalet is in a residential area and all guests must respect the cantonal noise regulations: between 10 pm and 6 am is quiet time and all external noise must be kept to a minimum.

12. Safety guidelines

  • First aid box: provided in the kitchen.
  • Fire extinguishers and fire blanket: located throughout the chalet; their positions are shown at orientation and in the chalet manual.
  • Smoke detectors: fitted throughout. If they activate, leave the property, call the fire department on 118, then the property management on +41 (0) 787 608 666.
  • Hot tub and pool: use at your own risk; no supervision is provided. Children must be supervised at all times.
  • Stairs and mezzanine: the stairs to the mezzanine have no child gates. Children must be accompanied and supervised in these areas at all times. Child guards are provided on the stairs in the reception area where fitted.
  • Ice and slipping: please be careful and mindful; ice cannot always be managed by the chalet management.
  • Low beams: this is a traditional Swiss chalet with exposed beams, especially in the upper bedrooms. Mind your head.
  • Candles: not allowed inside the chalet, as a significant fire risk.
  • Windows and blinds: thermal winds can start very quickly in the Bagnes valley. Always ensure windows are closed and shutters secured before leaving the chalet.
